As Country Head of Malaysia, you represent the heartbeat of the company and are always seeking ways to improve it. What does the company need to succeed and what are you doing to build that?
I believe the comprehensive growth as Sumitomo Corporation Group is one of the most important issues we need to consistently aim at. The communication among different organisations/companies can be easily diminished without our intentional efforts. We need to keep in mind our common interest among one another and our comprehensive and sustainable growth as “One Sumitomo Corporation”.

What is your dream project for Malaysia offices?
Is it already in the making? Tell us more.
My dream project is to make Malaysia office a significant business coordinator for all affiliated companies, where Sumitomo Corporation Malaysia contributes by performing functions that support the growth of affiliated companies and the realisation of joint projects for Malaysia society towards sustainable development. Being a part of it, we recently started a joint CSR activity with SMBC, MSIG and SMFL here in Malaysia where we not only donated some IT equipment to the orphanages, but also spent time with the children there by cooking Japanese cuisine and drawing together.
We heard that you love doing Yoga and playing golf. You play the piano too! Do you have any other hidden talent that we do not know of? Please share with us more about your hobbies and talents.
Golf, yoga and piano are more than enough for me. I prefer to spend more time in practising by myself than playing in front of an audience, because I am honestly not a good player. However, I would still wish to play with or for my friends when such opportunities arise.
