New Delhi – Tamana NGO
Tamana NGO is a non-profit organisation founded in 1984 by Dr Shayama Chona (Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan awardee) to provide rehabilitative services for individuals with developmental disabilities, brain damage, and those on the autism spectrum. It was inspired by Dr Chona’s daughter, Tamana, who was born with Cerebral Palsy.
SCIN donated 8 smart boards with stands which will help autistic children in:
Interactive Learning
Smart boards engage students through tailored visual, auditory, and tactile activities to meet diverse learning needs.
Customisable Content
Teachers can create personalised lesson plans, ensuring each student progresses at their own pace.
Skill Development
From enhancing cognitive growth to imparting life skills, smart boards offer innovative and interactive ways to empower the students.
The inauguration ceremony was held on 20 March 2025. It was attended by SCIN Corporate Group Director Mr Takashi Sakuma, and other SCIN members including Mr Amit Kumar, Mr Vivek Pandey, Mr Hukam Singh Rawat, Ms Deepa Pradeep, Mr Ankit Dingliwal, Ms Abha Tanwar, Ms Reena Kalra and Ms Meenu Thakral.
New Delhi – Scholarship Award
Every year, 30 deserving college students are awarded the Sumitomo Scholarship, and they feel privileged to receive this recognition.
This year, the programme was once again conducted on site, with the scholarship distribution taking place at St. Stephen’s College. The ceremony was held on 9 April 2025, and was attended by SCIN Chairman and MD Mr Takahiro Jitosho, SCIN Corporate Group Director Mr Takashi Sakuma, and other SCIN members including Mr Kapil Goel, Mr Rajesh Mali, Mr Mayank Mahajan, Mr Trijyot Singh and Ms Meenu Thakral.
Mumbai – Bombay YMCA
Established in 1875, the NGO provides shelter, food, education, medical assistance and vocational training to needy children, aiming to make them self-sufficient and respectable citizens of India. for the organisation focuses on promoting education and providing healthcare for homeless children.
The Bombay YMCA Street Children Programme provides its services to the ‘rootless and roofless’ children in Mumbai, through its night shelter, daytime activities and vocational training, enabling older children to support themselves and live independent, respectful lives. It also provides support to children from impoverished families.
SCIN donated kitchen chimney with exhaust system, deep freezer, refrigerator and storage lockers for children to Bombay YMCA Andheri (West) branch in accordance to their request.
The inauguration ceremony was held on 7 April 2025 and it was attended by Mr Amit Desai and Ms Mrudula Samant from SCIN.
Chennai – Chennai Pain and Palliative Care
Chennai Pain and Palliative Care, established in 2014, provides palliative care support to those who are terminally ill and those with life limiting disease.
SCIN donated appliances required for the general operation of centre.
The inauguration ceremony was conducted on 3 April 2025 and was attended by Office GM Mr Kazumasa Imai along with SCIN staff Ms Deepa M, Ms Anusha Kiran and Mr Krishna Kumar.
