A Whole New World
The working from home (WFH) experience during COVID-19 pandemic felt like a completely new world to some people, including myself. Every day I was adjusting to the new normal by staying home, self-isolating and keeping physical distance. However, I did miss socialising with people and all the fun we had in the office with co-workers.
In the beginning, it was quite challenging to adapt to WFH especially maintaining smooth communication process. Working in the office allowed me to have real interaction with people. However, now almost everything is being done online not to mention the difficulty in managing documentation, which is much easier to do at office.
Nevertheless, self-quarantine time has given me the opportunity to explore my fondness for plants through gardening. I planted mostly herbs, cacti, shrubs, flowers and fruits in my garden. Just looking at the sight of their colourful combinations always brought joy and warmth to my heart. Gardening could be a relaxing hobby as well as an effective way to relieve my boredom during WFH.
Nonetheless, there is always a “silver lining” in the storm. Through WFH, it has shaped me to be more productive and disciplined with time, while pursuing my hobby at the same time.
