Adapting to the New Normal
If anything good that was brought about this pandemic was the change of perspective of things.
My name is Lyka and I used to live alone and independently. Life was fast-paced. 17 March 2020 was the first day of lockdown. There were many feelings – disorientation, guilt, isolation, frustration.
I opted to remain at CBD due to the nature of my work and it was near to office., I was constantly in communication with people through emails. For my daily meals, I ordered fast food deliveries. Days passed and soon this lifestyle took a toll on my health and that was the breaking point for me to return to my real home.
I began to love being laidback. There was an unexplainable joy to be able to do things that you love or create things on your own, be it food or a hobby. I adapted quite well to the new norm – my mental health was intact, patience has expanded and there was hope that someday, it would be better.
