Thailand - Fried Bamboo Worms and Dancing Shrimp
Have you ever tried eating an insect in your life? Fried insects can be found especially in the rural areas in northern and northeastern Thailand. Insects are low in calories, high in protein and extremely nutritious. Fried Bamboo Worms are called Rot Duan in Thai, which means express train, due to their shape. It is the most basic snack for anyone who tries to eat insects. The taste and texture of these worms are like those of small crunchy corn puff snack with a bit of saltiness.

Goong Ten is a delicacy from Thailand that roughly translates as dancing shrimp. Why? Well because it is presented as fresh raw shrimp in a spicy sauce with herbs. Goong Ten is mostly eaten in the northeastern of Thailand. Some northeasterners enjoy Goong Ten with sticky rice. If you’re brave enough, you can try it from the street food vendors in Thailand. The dish gives off a beautiful aroma only topped by the surprisingly delicious flavours of the shrimp combined with the sour sauce that packs a nice spicy kick.
