FPSO ANNA Nery sets sail for Brazil
Contributed by Mr Ryosuke Uematsu, Manager, SCAO Energy Dept
SC and its project partner Yinson Holdings Bhd successfully completed the repair, life extension, conversion and onshore commissioning of FPSO ANNA NERY in China. The asset plans to sail away to the Marlim oil field, located in the eastern part of the Campos Basin, about 150km offshore Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, expected arrival before Q4 2022.
The conversion of the asset, which was carried out in Cosco Shipping Qidong, was completed safely and on time within 27 months. FPSO Anna Nery project remained relatively unimpacted by the various challenges brought about by the pandemic and stringent movement restrictions in China. Safety-wise, the project maintained Zero Lost Time Incident over 17-million-man hours – an excellent achievement by any standard and even more so given the volatile external environment.
Letters of Intent for the FPSO Anna Nery project were first awarded by Petrobras in October 2019, followed by firm contracts execution in March 2020. The estimated aggregate value of the FPSO Anna Nery project is USD5.4 billion, with a contract period of 25 years from the date of the final acceptance.
