On 16 February, volunteers from SCAO set off to a waterway cleanup with Waterways Watch Society. We were fortunate to have a sunny day after days of heavy downpour.

Waterways Watch Society also walked the volunteers through with a short talk on the impact of the marine life because of waste pollution. And why it is so important to keep the water clean and safe for all.

After the talk, the volunteers grabbed their equipment and split into different teams on  1 pedal-boat and 3 power-boats. Volunteers started fishing out the floating rubbish from the water surface as well as from riverside, Volunteers who were on pedal-boat worked the hardest, as they required to pedal the boat by themselves, and cleaning up of the wastes alongside. It’s really a good exercise too, isn’t it? 😊

The event ended with a big sense of satisfaction.
