On 26 February 2023, SCAO expats formed a team to take part in a softball competition held by the Japanese association.

Before COVID, this event was held twice a year as a big event among the Japanese communities in Singapore. However, due to several restrictions during COVID, it had not been held for 3 years. During these 3 years, most of our expats had already returned to Japan and there were only few who had experienced the last competition, so it was hard to form a team but finally a total of 15 members gathered at the competition.

Fortunately, we won the third prize among 20 teams, which was sort of a miracle because other winning teams were club teams formed by experienced players. We aim to win the first prize in the next competition!
