Celebration of Hope and Togetherness with Underprivileged Children

Children always look forward to special days such as New Year’s Day, birthdays, festive days because on those days they can celebrate and spend lovely moments with family members, filled with joy, laughter, gifts, special foods etc. Unfortunately, many children do not get this privilege especially the homeless and the orphans.
On 16 February, SCAO Dhaka office organised a whole-day event with the theme “Celebration of Hope and Togetherness” which was celebrated with underprivileged children residing at “Ekamattra Society” a NGO which works mainly for homeless children of Bangladesh. On that day, we and the children wore the same themed t-shirts and caps. Our celebration started with balloon-releasing and cake-cutting. Thereafter, we had several activities including cultural programmes, sports and games, New Year gifts distribution and it ended with special closing remarks. Our greatest reward was the children’s most precious smiles which were beyond imagination! We took lots of pictures, talked to the children and enjoyed the fullest of the day.
