Riding the big wave of digital transformation
Even though the Covid-19 pandemic has impacted our daily lives, it has also created enormous opportunities for us to be more technologically adaptive and digitalised.
As there are always new skills and techniques to learn and adapt, with the Work from Home (WFH) policy implemented in late March 2020, Bangkok Office has become more flexible and immediately embraced the utilisation of online platforms. Besides using technology to improve our business continuity, we have also used it to strengthen our Bangkok office’s community, keeping our colleagues connected even when we are physically apart.
Since April 2020, we have quickly adapted to having virtual regular meetings such as Executive Meetings, Monthly Result Meetings, Quarterly Business Report Meetings and Department Meetings etc.

Additionally, we initiated “SCTL Virtual: Uplifting Series” in May 2020. This initiative is not only about upskilling our staff through learning big wave surfing in this Covid-19 challenge, but also to enhance our internal communication.
Overcoming all limitations, we gained more collaboration as One CU to conduct over 20 valuable sessions in the last 3 months on topics such as “Post-Covid19”, “Innovation”, “Healthy” and “Upskill”. We have achieved successful participation rates of 70 to 100 staff in each session. Some of the contents included economic outlook, legal insight, wellness corner and innovative mindset etc.
On top of that, we have successfully built up strong relationships, not just with regional but also global colleagues who were invited to join our virtual sessions such as Global Chat (including SCOA, SCEU) and Regional Chat. The most recent one was a casual interactive session called “Pub Quiz”, co-hosted by SC Germany (Dusseldorf office). All sessions gained much positive feedback from participants.

Furthermore, we also initiated new communication content called “HR Newsletter” which is published on a bi-weekly basis. The first issue was officially launched in June 2020. This e-newsletter aims to provide information updates on laws, rules, regulations, practices and tips, all for our staff’s benefit.

Since the world is evolving all the time, we shall keep challenging ourselves and embrace digital transformation as our new normal to stay ahead of changes. Let’s hear from top 3 participants of SCTL Virtual programme.
