DE&I Mission for FY2023
Message from Chairperson
Dear SCAO Colleagues
Thank you for tuning in to DE&I Bulletin in this issue.
Did you know that our committee’s mission in Phase 2 DE&I Journey is to tackle Inclusion?
SCAO sets the mission for Inclusion as follows:
“Creating an inclusive work environment that fosters creativity and innovation, promotes employee engagement and work life flexibility within the ecosystem of inclusive behaviors such as Safe & Open, Respect & Trust, Valued, Empowered & Growing, Equal Opportunities”.
Since I started my role as Chairperson, we have been putting in efforts to get buy-in to practise inclusive behaviours starting from the leaders of our organisation and making an impact to every level of our organisation through commitment and communication. It took us a year to come to an arrangement that we think we could use as a springboard to finally kickstart our Inclusion Journey.
On 23 May 2023, on behalf of SCAO Management and SCAO DE&I Committee, I conducted group communication sessions to all SCAO staff to officially roll out Inclusion Target Setting Exercise for this Financial Year 2023.
You may find the official communication in our SCAO Global One. See how we got our CEO to endorse this exercise!!!
I once again request your support and cooperation:
- Follow our hardworking DE&I Committee members’ and HR members’ guidance to complete this Inclusion Target Setting Exercise by end June 2023. (This exercise has ended as of this horizon issue publication. Hope you have completed it.)
- Within your team or department, Communicate and Integrate inclusive behaviours that will contribute to achievement of your inclusion goals of your respective Units (Business or Corporate Units)
We made a decision now as an organisation to make Inclusion part of our key performance indicators and expectations for current and future SCAO leaders. Let’s make good use of the remaining 9 months (as of June 2023) for FY2023 and beyond to give ourselves opportunities to create a better workplace.
