SCIN D&I Initiatives
Psychological Safety Practice

We conducted an internal survey to understand the level of awareness of Psychological Safety among the employees of SCIN. This survey would help us to understand the current situation and know the associated gaps and actions required to fill them. It would also pave the way for further activities.

Based on the results, we designed and distributed Psychological Safety & Inclusive Leadership Guideline cards to all SCIN employees. Whenever an employee sees the card, he/she is reminded to practise Psychological Safety. To increase visibility of Psychological Safety, we developed virtual backgrounds mentioning the principles of Psychological Safety.

We engaged an external professional trainer to conduct Psychological Safety training for all employees. The core aim of this training was to improve Psychological Safety awareness and its benefits for employees and organisation, which was accepted with an open heart by SCIN employees.

Recognition/Reward

Long service award and ticker for birthdays

Recognition is the best way to accomplish the social need of a human being. With this thought and management support in SCIN, we implemented a system to appreciate efforts of each employee by giving long service award and certificate after completing 5, 10, 15, etc. years of service. We hope that this initiative could help in boosting staff morale.

We also launched a monthly advance birthday “running ticker” in the ESS (Employee Self Service) portal, which helps people to know the birthday of colleagues and enhances a sense of belonging among colleagues.

Boosting motivational drive in members through continual acts of appreciation

Let’s Appreciate (Star System)

Everyone likes to be appreciated, and appreciation by colleagues gets noticed. It works wonders resulting in a mutually respecting and trusting culture. Hence, we implemented a Star System in SCIN. Here, a person gets a Silver Star each time for helping others and a Golden Star each time for reporting bad news without hesitation in order to prevent associated challenges and allow leaders to back their team members and guide them through these challenging situations.
