To promote quality education under our 100SEED project, SCAO Dhaka Office organised a study tour for underprivileged children on 8 February 2024 in collaboration with the NGO “Ekmattra Society”. Right now, there are approximately 60  children who are sheltered under Ekmattra.

As Ekmattra also has some limitations, those children rarely get a chance to explore outside of their academy. Our goal for this year was simple yet impactful – a “Study Tour” for providing these children with a joyful experience, encouraging them to explore new places and gaining knowledge through a fun engagement.

The day kicked off early, with students gathering at the venue. Excitement filled the air as the young minds prepared for a day of learning, bonding, and fun. Upon arrival, they were warmly welcomed, setting the tone for an unforgettable day. The event was inaugurated with a heartfelt opening speech by SCAO Dhaka Office Country General Manager and Ekmattra Society management.

Shortly after the inauguration, there were lively warm-up sessions and teambuilding activities, where students of different age groups collaborated and participated in various engaging exercises. After some sports, all the participants had lunch together and the day continued with more team activities, keeping the momentum in high spirits.

The afternoon unfolded with a cultural programme, featuring fascinating performances by the children. One highlight was a drama based on Aesop’s fable “The Goose that Laid the Golden Eggs”, showcasing the incredible potential among those young minds.

After the cultural programme, there were gift distributions and closing remarks made by Ekmattra and SCAO Dhaka Office GM Mr Shinichi Nagata, who expressed their gratitude for the active participation and enthusiasm of the children throughout the day.

With the clock ticking towards the end of the day, the group wrapped up the event. The children, with smiles on their faces bid farewell filled with wonderful memories, newfound friendships, and a shared commitment to quality education.

In essence, the study tour with the children of Ekmattra Academy was not just a day of fun and games; it was a celebration of education, teamwork, and the spirit of togetherness. As these young minds returned to their academy, they carried with them not only the memories of an unforgettable day but also the invaluable lessons learned about the power of unity and the significance of quality education in shaping a brighter future.
