“Pet Care Products” –VETSOne- the development and export to Japan

SC Group (SCTL, SCAO, SC Tokyo), Betagro Group (Pet Focus) and Petgo Corporation, a Japanese E-Commerce company who operates their own E-Commerce web site specialised in pet products, collaborated to develop Veterinary Food since 2018.

Veterinary Food is a functional pet food given to dogs and cats with illness or for illness prevention. Market growth is expected to be a very promising with the aging of pets and increase in disease.

SC group has seized this market opportunity and started the development of Veterinary Food for Petgo private brand “VETSOne“. In FY 2021, 13 products of the Veterinary Food and 2 products of Premium Food were successfully developed and exported to Japan. All products are being sold on Petgo’s own E-commerce, Amazon, Rakuten, and Yahoo shopping sites.

Thanks to Petgo’s massive promotion to their own 400,000 members (with 30% discount off the original price), sales are going well according to its projected sales plan. Taking into consideration of Petgo’s 18 years of selling experience of Veterinary Food, and after analysing the sales performance of market leader products, it has been determined that VETSOne product development will be continued.

During the period of COVID-19, people have been forced to spend most of their time at home, resulting in more people owning pets in Japan, United States and everywhere else in the world. According to pets’ health concerns and pet owner’s needs, we believe Veterinary Food can become one of our core businesses in the near future.
