In recent years, SCAO has been actively seeking new business opportunities. The Inorganic & Performance Chemicals and Electronics Dept identified a significant market demand for Industrial Salt, also known as Sodium Chloride (NaCl), which is essential in the Chlor-Alkali process. This process yields 3 main key chemicals:

1. Caustic Soda (used in aluminium production)
2. Chlorine (used in PVC production)
3. Hydrogen (used for industrial purposes)

We collaborated closely with our SCIN team to shortlist several suitable candidates for supply, ultimately selecting Kompass Overseas Private Limited. After finalising our supply source, we chose to enter the Singapore market first, given our base here. Outperforming our competitors, SCAO successfully secured the tender from Chemical Industries (Far East) Limited for two consecutive years, 2024 and 2025, to supply industrial salt from Kompass. Following our success in Singapore, we are now exploring expansion opportunities into nearby Southeast Asian countries and China, the largest importer of industrial salt.

We will also be participating in the year-end 2025 tender for industrial salt, organised by Duc Giang Chemicals Group Joint Stock Company (DGC), a publicly listed company in Vietnam, for their new caustic soda facility. This move aims to broaden our market presence and capitalise on the growing demand for industrial salt in Asia Pacific regions.
