SCAO Project Hope - A Day at the Pottery Studio

12 December 2024

Pottery is a wonderful activity that offers a myriad of benefits for children. It enhances creativity, develops fine motor skills, fosters patience and focus, encourages problem-solving, and boosts self-confidence.

On 12 Dec 2024, SCAO organised a pottery session for underprivileged children from Children’s Wishing Well at Thow Kwang Pottery Jungle, providing them with a meaningful and enjoyable learning experience. Each children had the opportunity to create one of their own art pieces, hand-building a pocket holder. They designed and coloured their artwork, drawing from their creativity and imagination.

From preparing the clay to shaping and finalising their pieces, the children were deeply involved in the entire process. This hands-on experience not only allowed them to express themselves but also taught them valuable lessons in patience, focus, and problem-solving. We were delighted to contribute to this enriching experience, witnessing the joy and pride on the children’s faces as they completed their unique creations.

Have you considered introducing your child to pottery? It might just be the perfect activity to spark their creativity and help them develop important life skills.
