Business – Supporting SCPM: A Triumph for Vientiane Office

We are proud to be part of the team that supported Sumitomo Corporation Power & Mobility Co., Ltd. (SCPM)’s business in supplying 52 units of micro buses, both mobile workshop and towing trucks, along with spare parts to the Lao government’s Ministry of Public Works and Transportation. This project not only strengthens our Japan-Laos partnership but also contributes to the development of transportation in Laos.

Culinary Delights: Where to Eat in Laos

Laos is a treasure trove of culinary delights. Here are the two must-visit restaurants for food enthusiasts:

Tamarind Restaurant

Located along the Mekong River, Tamarind Restaurant offers an authentic Laotian dining experience. Indulge in dishes like “larb” (a spicy minced meat salad), “mok pa” (steamed fish in banana leaves), and sticky rice. The serene ambience and their friendly staff contribute to a memorable dining experience.

Night Market Street Food

When the sun sets, head to the bustling Night Market in Vientiane to sample delicious local street food. Please try out “khao piak sen” (wet rice noodle soup), “ping gai” (grilled chicken skewers), and sweet coconut pancakes. It’s a feast for the senses!

Festivals and Traditions

Laos celebrates several vibrant festivals throughout the year. Here’s one that stands out:

That Luang Festival

Held in November, the That Luang Festival is a grand affair at the iconic golden stupa in Vientiane. Pilgrims from all over Laos gather to pay homage, participate in processions, and enjoy traditional music and dance. The sight of the illuminated stupa against the night sky is awe-inspiring.

Our Vientiane office is more than just a workplace; it’s a hub of growth, cultural exchange, and shared experiences. As we continue our journey, let’s celebrate the spirit of Laos – one that embraces progress while cherishing its rich heritage.
