Half an hour away from the bustling streets of central Manila, popular routes for Manilenyo cyclists find its ways extending into the tropical vegetation. My cycling life in Manila began in 2019, soon after arriving in this country of smiles and hospitality.

Coming from Tokyo, I was happily surprised to discover the great number of fellow cyclists on the roads within and outside of Manila. It did not take me too long to hook up with fellow Filipino cyclists who have now become my close friends. With their guidance, I have come to realise the variety of cycling options, from the challenging hill-climbs in mountains to the leisurely flat rides in town.

Together, we’ve done hundreds of rides and shared countless stories over coffee breaks, and created lasting memories which I will forever cherish.
