SCSK Myanmar and SCAO Yangon donate to Ministry of Health & Sports
to support COVID-19 combating efforts

20 October 2020

Yangon, Myanmar

SCSK Myanmar Ltd (SCSK MM) and SCAO Yangon Office jointly donated laptops and printers to the Ministry of Health and Sports (MoHS) to support their efforts in combating COVID-19 in Myanmar.

COVID-19 is rapidly spreading in Myanmar since the middle of August 2020. Initially, the infected cases were only hundreds but now it has multiplied to 52,000 at the end of October. In view of this situation, MoHS has decided to set up a new COVID-19 support center, a specialised medical center where they monitor infection status, communicate with each isolation facility, and manage ambulance arrangements.

This new support center required 50 computers and 20-30 printers to operate. Based on MoHS’s request, we have donated 10 units laptops and printers each, to relief the effort of Myanmar government. The equipment were delivered to the facility of MoHS on 20 October 2020. Representatives from SCSK MM and SCAO Yangon Office visited the Director General, Department of Medical Research in MoHS along with a letter expressing our deepest sympathy. In return, we received a letter of appreciation from the Director General.

We sincerely hope that this donation will contribute to the control of infection in Myanmar, even if it is just a little, and we wish this worldwide pandemic will be over at the soonest.
