SCTL conducts a series of in-house transformational programme focusing on enriching SC core strength.
Following the SCTL Strategy Forum and Innovative Talk 2022 held in July, we continue our programme with the launch of Change Maker Academy#3 (CMA#3). This year, the theme of CMA#3 programme was “Enriching the Future of Sumitomo Corporation: From core strength to collaboration” aiming to enhance SC’s core strength by Corporate- Startup collaboration. CMA#3 programme was arranged into 2 phases.
(i) Change Maker Journey (6-week intensive workshop)
(ii) Hack Weekend (2-Day intensive weekend and pitching day)
In early August 2022, we kicked off CMA3# programme with a 6- week intensive workshop and leadership programme where each workshop was designed as a hands-on workshop instructed by experienced instructors to share experiences and new approach methods. A diverse team of 88 staff participated.
Along the Change Maker Journey, we had volunteers joining the intensive weekend called “Hack Weekend” on 29-30 October. Participants were grouped and divided into 3 teams. They had to align their ideas with SC’s strength and direction in AgriTech, Solar Panel, and Health care industry. Each team was equipped with SCTL Insight, startups matching, 1:1 session with external business and presentation coaches.
On 31 October 2022, the Final Pitching Day, our participants presented their business idea to SCTL Management (President and Division GMs) and external judge as well as to our staff. This event was successfully wrapped up with almost 180 participants attending via MS Teams.
The winning team is now in the process of business validation and plans to present for Management’s consideration in March 2023.
