Contributed by SCTL 100SEED Committee

19 March 2021

Bangkok, Thailand

SCTL launched 3 sub-projects (Button Up, Power Up and Light Up) under 100SEED programme with the objective to develop education from upstream to downstream in Angthong, one of the central province in Thailand. Under Button Up project, the original plan was to organise a one-day Activity Based Learning programme which aims to create equity and quality of education for Elementary and Secondary school students. We intended to support 2 schools per year and had arranged activity at the 1st school on 16 December 2020. However, due to the 2nd wave of COVID-19 pandemic, we adjusted the activity to be taken place at the 2nd school.

On 19 March 2021, SCTL President, Mr Yasushi Fukuda, hosted a donation ceremony at Wat Nam Arb School. SCTL supplied water treatment system, mosquitoes preventive window net, and renovated the library. In total, we benefitted 345 students from Button Up projects in FY2020, including engagement of 67 staff.

SCTL 100SEED – Power Up, preparing university students for working life

17 March 2021

Bangkok, Thailand

We changed the physical workshop to an online seminar for the university students. The purpose of this seminar was to enhance the skill of students for better employment and career success. Although our target was to benefit 100 students, some of the experienced students who joined our workshop last year had promoted our seminar to their juniors and professors, as a result more than 220 students joined our virtual seminar. This year, we covered the same themes, which were “cross-cultural” and “preparing for technology disruption”.
