
SCTL promotes work transformation through in-house transformational programme

Building capability for CHANGE and the CMA#2 proves it
SCTL held an in-house programme called “The Change Maker Academy#2: Journey of Transformation” (CMA#2) earlier this year. This was an in-house transformational programme aiming to activate willpower of intrapreneurship and foster creative ideas of work transformation in times of business difficulty. This programme was targeted to enhance new generation staff’s capability in improving work processes.
The participants embarked on their exciting journey of an intensive weekend to come up with innovative ideas before pitching their idea seeds to the Management in the middle of March 2021.
2 weeks prior to the intensive weekend named “Hackweekend”, we organised a half-day Open House both physically and virtually to facilitate participants to find and solve the complex problem with realistic outcome using tools such as Design Thinking and Scoping Canvas programme, as well as finding their own sponsors. The sponsors were actually the managers who would share and guide them to obtain better convincing results.
After 2 weeks of internal brainstorming and colleagues’ hearing, we held the “Hackweekend” on 13 -14 March 2021, to motivate and accelerate their idea seeds before the Pitching Day. During these intense days, the participants were equipped with *UX design and storytelling, and received the insightful suggestions from our CU Management and various experiences and knowledge shared by external mentors.
On 15 March 2021, the final Pitching Day, our participants shared their identified issues and presented their initiative ideas for work transformation to SCTL Management, external judges and our staff. Digital literacy, information management, and working in a multicultural environment were pointed out as significant issues that need to be resolved in order to transform our organisation. The top 3 teams were awarded with an incentive. This event was successfully conducted with almost 150 participants joining virtually.

*UX – Stands for “user experience“, which refers to how people interact with a product. For example, when we want to turn on a light in our room, we interact with a light switch.
