SCTL Petrochemical Dept No. 3 honourably received “Excellent VA (Value Analysis) Award” on 23 July 2020, chosen from over 60 companies, from Daikin Industries Thailand (DIT).

SCTL made cost reduction proposal to DIT to switch ABS Resin material from Asahi Kasei to Ineos Styrolution. This proposal was estimated to have brought material cost reduction worth THB 31 million (USD 1 million) for DIT in 2019-2020. The component that used this ABS resin was Bottom Flame, thus its reduction effect (amount) was significant.

In addition, SCTL had been making VA proposals and cost cooperation every year which brought approximately THB 20 million (USD 0.6 million) merit for DIT in 2019. This contribution was also appreciated and it was one of the reasons for this honourable award.

Within the SCAO region, we have Daikin Business in Thailand, India and Vietnam collaborating with Sumitomo Shoji Chemical. Although we do not have business with Daikin Malaysia yet, we are introducing Kenaf materials (which will be alternatives to glass fibers as environmentally friendly materials) and PP (Polypropylene) recycled materials to kick start business with them.
