SSRI Committed in Cultivating a Love for Reading Among Children in Indonesia
November 2024 – March 2025
Jakarta, Indonesia
Our commitment to fostering a love for reading among children in Indonesia continues through various initiatives. On 14 November 2024, we held an event at Mizan Orphanage Jakarta, engaging 15 children in a fun and interactive reading session. This was followed by another event on 23 January 2025 at Pre-School Mawar Jakarta, a school for underprivileged children, where 25 young learners participated in storytelling activities. We also conducted an EHON event at Ananda Elementary School Bekasi on 6 February 2025, attended by 200 children. Following that, we brought EHON activities to Kediri, East Java on 11 March 2025, further broadening our reach.
Beyond these events, EHON books are being provided to junior high school students in Halmahera, North Maluku, supporting those who are still developing their reading skills. By introducing engaging stories and interactive sessions, we aim to ignite their passion for books and encourage lifelong learning.
Our ultimate goal is to continue inspiring children to develop a love for reading and to expand EHON activities to many more places, allowing a broader audience of children across Indonesia to experience the joy of reading EHON.
