SSRI, together with SC group companies in Indonesia conducted mangrove planting for the second time to combat climate change. We held our mangrove planting on 13 June 2023, in celebration of the World Environment Day that was on 5 June.
Like our first CSR programme, this second CSR programme received excellent response from the Government of Sumbawa and the residents of Sumbawa. They were very enthusiastic about joining our Mangrove Planting programme. As a result, people from many communities, such as Indonesian Police Force, Indonesian National Armed Force, Regent of Sumbawa, Disability Communities, Scout Communities, etc., were involved in our activity. In total, 120,000 mangrove seeds were planted in Kaung and Bungin Island.
A day before, we also held our 100SEED activity in a local school in Sumbawa called SD Negeri Ai Puntuk (SDN). On top of making donation to the school, SSRI volunteers were also there to teach basic Japanese language and read Japanese children book (Ehon) to the students.
